Northwestern is a member of the Center for Research Libraries (CRL), a consortium of North American universities, colleges and independent research libraries. The consortium acquires and preserves newspapers, journals, documents, archives and other traditional and digital resources for research and teaching. These resources are then made available to member institutions cooperatively, through interlibrary loan and electronic delivery.
The Northwestern community has borrowing privileges with the Loyola libraries. Loyola's University Archives and Special Collections contains much Catholic history and history of the Jesuits in both print and digital formats.
Provides links to the libraries of the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA), a consortium of universities comprised of the members of the Big 10 athletic conference plus the University of Chicago.
The world's most comprehensive catalog of library holdings, particularly (though not exclusively) from North American libraries, containing over 2,000,000,000 records from over 10,000 libraries.
