Find Background Information

Hello DTC students! This guide will help you find resources for your projects. If you want information on the research process in general, take a look at our Start Your Research guide

If your project relates to COVID-19, take a look at our COVID-19 guide.

If you need to find some background information on any aspect of your topic, you can find books and reference entries in NUsearch, our library catalog, which can be accessed from the library homepage.

One good place to start looking for articles is Engineering Village.  This database contains articles that have been published in journals across many fields of engineering.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Northwestern Libraries subscribes to thousands of journals, and has access to millions of books. We still don't have everything, though, but we can get it for you (for free!) via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). In other words, never pay for anything for your research!

More Support

If you need more help, feel free to get in touch with the librarian who came to your DTC section or fill out the Research Consultation Request Form.
