Getting started

Connecting from Off Campus

Almost all of the library's online resources are available to you no matter where you are. Just remember to link to resources from library web pages so you'll be recognized as a member of the Northwestern community. For example, if you try to access JSTOR by going directly to www.jstor.org, it won't know that you have paid for access and won't get full text. If you link to JSTOR from the library's website, you will be asked for your NetID, authenticate with Multi-Factor Authentication and get access to all of the library's resources.

If you every have any issues connecting to resources email us: library@northwestern.edu

Remote Software Access

Northwestern University Libraries is providing remote access to PC workstations located in the library buildings. This allows you to use software such as SPSS, SAS, MATLAB, the Adobe Creative Suite, and more. View a list of available software below. Remote access is limited to Northwestern community members with an active NetID. Access requires connection to the Northwestern VPN. View instructions for connecting on the NUIT VPN guide.
