Reserving the Lightboard

This studio can be reserved by members of the NU community. You must have a valid northwestern email address and wildcard to use the studio.

Reserve the Video Production Studio

  1. Select date on the calendar
  2. Select preferred time –up to three hours
    • Green block - Available
    • Purple block - Your Booking
    • Gray block - Not available
  3. Read the Studio Policies & Procedures and fill out the reservation form.

When you submit your booking, you will receive email confirmation of your reservation. If you need to book the room for longer than 3 hours, please email mudd@northwestern.edu

If you have never used the studio before, we recommend scheduling time before your reservation to familiarize yourself with the space and equipment and to prepare your presentation.

Class/Group reservation - Please contact the Instructional Technologies Librarian (Ted Quiballo) to discuss details on your instructional needs for the Lightboard.

The Space Itself and Checking Items Out

Welcome to the Mudd Library Video Production Studio. In this room, you will find a lot of technical equipment. You will need your wildcard to enter the library space on the 2nd floor of Mudd Hall. When you come into Mudd Library, BEFORE you go to the Video Production Studio, please let the service desk staff know you are using. They will ask you what equipment you need. Depending on how and what you are recording, the following items are available for patrons to check out:

  1. Glass markers for the lightboard
  2. USB slide advancer
  3. USB drive (optional)
  4. Lapel microphones
  5. Lightboard Kit (includes all items above except  the USB drive)
  6. Multi-port adapter (for Apple Macbooks)

Please note: You must bring your own laptop if you have presentation materials. There is no computer in the studio for presentation use.
