Sources for background information include handbooks and guides as well as specialized encyclopedias. In addition, other types of reference resources that can be helpful include biographies, dictionaries, atlases and much, much more. Below are a few examples of reference resources located in the Reference Room.

There are also many online reference tools such as Gale Virtual Reference Library and Credo Reference that allow you to search across a number of dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, etc.
