Some articles from select publishers are available in our catalog for on demand access via the Article Galaxy Service. This service is available for Northwestern Faculty, Graduate students, and Staff.

Articles in our catalog available for instant access

Articles available for instant access or interlibrary loan will be in our catalog search results with the option to "Request PDF"

Clicking "Request PDF" will open up the Article Galaxy Scholar request form. 

You must enter a valid northwestern email address to authenticate with the service,. A download link will also be sent to this email. Once your email is entered the service will search for access.

The body of the email will include a link to download the PDF. 

Download limits

Articles acquired via Article Galaxy Scholar can be accessed again via the link sent to your email. The service allows users to download the article up to 5 times. Links will expire after 30 days. It is recommended that you save the article with a recognizable filename once you download it.

Article not available for instant access?

For articles not available for instant access, or for books, multimedia, and more, Interlibrary Loan is available to request the item from another library. Requests typically take a few days to fulfill.
