Designing assignments to help prevent plagiarism and other academic violations: Scaffolding an assignment is one way to help break tasks into smaller pieces. This also helps instructors get to know the "voice" of the student and be able to recognize their original work.

Assigning annotated bibliographies to your students is another way to encourage academic integrity and get to know your students' style of writing. This example from Cornell is a helpful resource.
