LibKey Nomad is a browser add-on that facilitates access to articles. It provides a link on publisher web sites to show when the Library has a subscription, and if not, it will link to other options for accessing an article.

Installation of LibKey Nomad takes less than a minute. Download LibKey Nomad:

•     Select your browser
•     Download the extension
•     Set your organization to Northwestern University.

LibKey Nomad requires your permission to read and edit the sites you visit so that it can determine if an article is available via our subscriptions. LibKey is not collecting any personal information. You can view their privacy policy here.

When you visit an article on a publisher site, LibKey Nomad will scan the page looking for article information. It will check for subscription or open access content, and display a link to download the PDF at the bottom of the page:

If the article is not available through subscription or open access, you can still get it. You will see a "Request PDF" or "Access Options" link instead. The article will be delivered to you via other library services. Click on the link to initiate the process.
