GIS Computers, Software and Remote Access


ArcGIS is installed on several computers throughout Evanston Campus Libraries including:

  • Main Library - all public PCs

  • Mudd Library - all public PCs

  • Tech, Room MG51 - all public PCs


ArcGIS is also available on computers on the Chicago Campus including:

  • Schaffner Library - all public PCs

  • Galter Health Sciences Library - all public PCs



Workstations in libraries are equipped with GIS software including Esri ArcGIS Desktop, Esri ArcPro and Quantum GIS (QGIS). For more information on GIS software visit the GIS software page.


Remote Access

The Geospatial and Data Services team has supported and collaborated with a range of Information Technology groups to provide remote access to GIS software. Of note are the Weinberg’s remote access environment and the Library’s remote solution.
