Library New Hire Onboarding : Introduction

This onboarding guide provides important milestones for both employee and supervisor in the critical first three months of employment.

We are happy to have you "on board" with Northwestern University Libraries! This onboarding guide to Northwestern Libraries is a road map for the first six months of employment. It is intended as a tool for both the new employee and for his or her supervisor. The guide outlines the important steps and information needed to effectively navigate the library as an employee.

Library Organizational Development Office

During the first three months of employment, the Library Organizational Development Office will assist with the onboarding process and will be communicating with both the new employee and the supervisor during this period.

Eddie Bland IV

Eddie Bland IV, Associate Director of Faculty and Staff Services

Eddie can assist with all aspects of the recruitment process for exempt and
non-exempt staff. He also oversees the Performance Excellence process,
manages our implementation of HR policies and procedures, and manages
employee relation issues for the library.
