Hot Topics

FirstSearch

You cannot limit the "Hot Topics" to the holdings of particular libraries, or in any other way.

However, this is a useful and quick method of obtaining the structure of an interdisciplinary search. That is, you can use the search construction WorldCat shows with results to run the search yourself with any and all limitations you want.

(a)  From the pull-down list of Hot Topics on the main page "Select a topic to search".

Hot Topics are pre-defined searches provided by OCLC, which are often related to interdisciplinary subjects—e.g.,  global warming.

(b) With the return of the results, you will see how the search was constructed. For example, the search for global warming looks like this: su="global warming" and yr: 2004- not mt: fic.
