Use NUsearch to identify books that the library has, as well as journal titles, videos, maps, and other more.

Tips on searching:

  • When searching for two different terms, type AND in between. For example, gargantua AND satire
  • To broaden your search you can connect synonyms or similar terms, type OR in between. For example, satire OR humor
  • When searching for a phrase, put the terms in quotation marks. For example, "literary criticism"
  • To search for variations on a word or phrase, use the * at the end. For example, searching for comed* will pull up results with comedy, comedian, and comedic

Subject Headings

Use the subject headings to call up lists of other books that deal with your topic.

  • RabelaisFrançoisapproximately 1490-1553? -- Criticism and interpretation

  • Arthurian romances

For books that deal with the literary analysis, many subject headings are subdivided using the phrase "History and criticism"

  • Arthurian romances -- History and criticism
