The Process

Preparation

  • Library OD notifies New Staff Officers of new hire
  • New Staff Officers collaborate on potential Buddy to arrange a pair
  • Library OD will reach out to Supervisor to get input on Buddy selected
  • One of the New Staff Officers will be the "point person"

Implementation

  • Buddy communicates with new hire's supervisor to coordinate meeting during new hire's first week
  • Buddy meets new hire virtually for a coffee break (first week)
  • Buddy coordinates a virtual lunch with new hire (first month)
  • Buddy “takes” new hire to NULSA events (Donut Day and happy hours)
  • New Staff Officers check in with Buddies
