The Process

Preparation

  • Library HR notifies New Staff Officers of new hire
  • New Staff Officers collaborate on potential Buddy to arrange a pair
  • Library HR will reach out to Supervisor to get input on Buddy selected
  • One of the New Staff Officers will be the "point person"

Implementation

  • New Staff Officer will contact Buddy to go over the process and arrange to get welcome package
  • Buddy communicates with new hire's supervisor to coordinate meeting during new hire's first week
  • Buddy meets new hire and presents welcome package (first week)
  • Buddy goes to lunch with new hire and gives campus tour of the library vicinity as necessary (first two weeks)
  • Buddy takes new hire to NULSA events, Donut Day, and New Employee Tours (ongoing)
  • New Staff Officers check in with Buddies
