DataBank: Library Fund Management Tips & Tools

LEDGER HIERARCHY

  1. The red square is the PARENT fund,  uppermost summary level of all fund levels underneath it.
  2. The blue triangle is the ALLOCATED fund at which level the funding amount is entered into the ledger.  It too will sum all fund levels underneath it.
  3. The yellow dot is the REPORTING fund which merely tracks the commitments and expenditures for that fund.  A reporting fund may have a fund reporting to it and will thereby sum the activity of its own level and that of the reporting level.

In the example on the left, Library Sci (Blosser) is the Parent of two Allocated lines: Library Sci mono and Library Sci serial. These, in turn, each have two Reporting lines below them.
