Microfilm & Microfiche Collections

The libraries hold many microfilm collections. These are listed in NUsearch, and may be searched by specific title.  The Center for Research Libraries (CRL) holds a significant number of microfilm collections which may be borrowed via iinterlibrary loan.  Consult the CRL web site and online catalog for more information.  Titles of CRL microform holdings are listed in WorldCat.

Some government materials are available in microfilm and microfiche, and most, but not all, will be listed in NUsearch.  Note the IIndex to Urban Documents in particular.  Published since 1972, this Index contains reports and research generated by local government agencies, civic organizations, academic and research organizations, public libraries, and metropolitan and regional planning agencies from more than 500 major cities in the United States and Canada. The print index is located in the main library 1 East - Reference Section (016.352 I38 ).  A selection of microfiche available in Government Information-Lower Level room B190. Please email library@northwestern.edu for more information on access to this collection.
